At Poowong Consolidated School our enrolment process includes a tour of the school, meeting with the principal to discuss your child’s needs and the official enrolment forms for you to fill out. Along with the enrolment form, we need to take copies of your child’s birth certificate or passport and their immunisation certificate. Sometimes we can arrange to have these sent with the transfer papers from your child’s previous school- please chat to us if you would like us to arrange this with another school.
At PCS we accept enrolments all year round, however we encourage families, where possible, to finish the term at their current school. This helps with a positive transition. This is sometimes not an option due to moving to a different area, and we understand and accommodate this where needed.
In Term 3 and 4 each year, we offer a “Ready, Set, Prep” Program, our kinder to school transition sessions. These sessions start with a tour of the school with the Poowong Pre-School, however others are always welcome to join us on this day. We run ten, weekly, hour-long sessions throughout term 3 and 4 to allow children to acclimatise to the school and to build relationships with their peers and teacher. We also run a morning session in December each year on the Statewide Transition Day (usually the first week in December).
If you would like to enrol your child at Poowong Consolidated School, we would love to hear from you.
